Sustainable Fisheries & Blue Economy

We advocate for a just and sustainable Blue Economy that protects marine ecosystems while supporting the livelihoods of coastal communities. Through evidence based advocacy, partnerships, and community led action, we work closely with Beach Management Units along the Kenyan coast to strengthen sustainable fisheries management, address destructive fishing practices including bottom trawling, and promote policies that safeguard ocean biodiversity, food security, and climate resilience.

We believe that healthy oceans are fundamental to thriving communities and that lasting change requires inclusive decision making, responsible stewardship, and a just transition to sustainable ocean economies.
